About Poké House
Poké House is a poke bowl shop at Town & Country Village, the open-air shopping center on El Camino Real across from Stanford. It is part of a small chain that started in 2016 with a single shop on Hostetter Road in San Jose. The company says it now has more than 10 locations and about 200 employees, mostly in the Bay Area. Its 2026 plans include expanding beyond the region, as far as Florida.
The brand's stated goal is to capture California's spirit through its own take on traditional Hawaiian poke. In practice that means bowls of raw fish and other proteins over rice or greens, made to order at a counter, with a menu that shifts with the seasons. The Palo Alto shop is in Building 1 of the center, according to the Town & Country directory.
What is on the menu
The menu has two halves: signature bowls and build-your-own bowls. Signature bowls are set combinations. The House Salmon Bowl, which the company calls a favorite since day one, combines Scottish salmon with masago, edamame, cucumber, onions, furikake, sesame oil and citrus ponzu. The Miso Salmon Bowl adds grape tomatoes and hijiki seaweed. The Charred Salmon Bowl uses spicy miso salmon torched to order. The Tuna Lover Bowl combines three tunas: ahi, spicy tuna and garlic oyster tuna.
For people who do not eat raw fish, there are two chicken bowls, one with oven-baked crispy shoyu chicken and one with roasted miso chicken. A Kid's Krab Bowl pairs imitation crab salad with seaweed salad and avocado under a sweet unagi sauce.
Build-your-own bowls come in three sizes, with two, three or four scoops of protein. Each comes with imitation crab salad plus your choice of mix-ins, sauces and toppings over rice or vegetables. A veggie bowl lets you choose four mix-ins instead of protein. Sides include miso soup, miso soup over rice with salmon or tofu, sushi rice, brown rice and seaweed salad. Drinks include Hawaiian juices, iced teas and yerba mate. The Town & Country listing also announced onigiri as a new item.
Sourcing and sustainability
Poké House puts its sourcing up front. It says its wild-caught and farm-raised seafood is rated Best Choice or Good Alternative by the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program, or is eco-certified by a third party. Its bowls are made from biodegradable corn or plant fiber. The company also partners with REEF.org, a marine conservation group. It says part of its proceeds supports that work.
Ordering and catering
You can order at the counter or online through the Poké House website, which also runs a rewards program. For groups, the company offers catering that is prepared for pickup, which it pitches as the easy way to feed a team. Catering orders go through the link on its website.
The location finder on the company site lists other Bay Area branches in San Jose, Mountain View, San Mateo and Pleasanton, plus shops farther away in Monterey, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Los Angeles. The bowls are the same across branches, but seasonal items can vary, so check the menu when you order online.
Who it suits
Poké House is a quick lunch or casual dinner, not a sit-down meal. The build-your-own sizes make it easy to order for a small appetite or a big one. The two chicken bowls and the veggie bowl help when someone in the group does not eat raw fish. The Kid's Krab Bowl is sized for children. The company asks that no add-ons be put on that kids' bowl. If you want table service nearby, Telefèric Barcelona is in the same center.
