About Hoover Pavilion
Hoover Pavilion is a Stanford Health Care outpatient building at 211 Quarry Road, near Stanford Shopping Center. Stanford describes it as the original Palo Alto Hospital, now renovated. Today it houses a cluster of clinics and services rather than hospital beds. Many people come here for same-day care, primary care visits, blood draws or X-rays without needing to go to the main Stanford Hospital on Pasteur Drive.

Hours vary by clinic. Stanford Primary Care in Palo Alto and Senior Care both list weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Travel Medicine Clinic lists business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, but its patient clinic runs on Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Center for Integrative Medicine lists weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Same-day care: Express Care and the walk-in clinic
Two services here handle same-day needs. Express Care in Suite 102 lists hours of 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Sunday. It sees patients aged 6 months and older, with same-day appointments depending on availability.
The Stanford Walk-In Clinic on the fourth floor lists weekday hours of 2:30 to 10 p.m. It is closed on holidays and takes its last check-in at 9 p.m. Stanford notes that registration may close early when the clinic reaches capacity. It sees patients aged 2 and older.
Neither is an emergency room. In an emergency, call 911. Stanford Hospital's emergency department is on the main medical center campus nearby; check Stanford Health Care's emergency page for the entrance.
Blood draws and X-rays
The blood draw site in Suite 101 serves adults and children. It lists hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. It closes on major holidays including Thanksgiving and Christmas. Imaging Services offers walk-in diagnostic X-rays on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., closing for lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m. Stanford asks imaging patients to bring photo identification, an insurance card and their referring doctor's name and phone number.
Parking and getting there
Hoover Pavilion has its own garage, separate from the shopping center lots. The Hoover Pavilion Garage is at 217 Quarry Road and Stanford Health Care lists it as open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The first hour is free. After that there is an hourly charge up to a daily maximum, which Stanford posts on the Hoover Pavilion page.
Without a car, the building is a short walk from the Palo Alto Transit Center and Caltrain station. The free Marguerite shuttle's Hospital: Direct line links Hoover Pavilion with the main medical center and the Stock Farm Garage on weekdays.
