About Lee Optometrics
Lee Optometrics is a family optometry office with an eyewear boutique at 231 Hamilton Avenue in downtown Palo Alto. The practice says it has been downtown since 2006. Its contact page places it between Emerson and Ramona streets, in the historic Cardinal Hotel building. That puts it across Hamilton from Reposado restaurant and a short walk from University Avenue.
The practice describes its approach as "exquisite eyewear and exceptional eye care." It says it books generous time for each appointment so exams are not rushed. Its equipment, the home page says, includes newer diagnostic instruments.
Eye exams and services
The home page lists these services:
- Comprehensive eye exams
- Contact lens fittings
- Myopia management and control for children
- Urgent eye care appointments
Contact lenses need their own fitting, separate from the regular exam. The contact lens page explains that most vision plans treat contacts as elective. That means the fitting may carry only a copay or a discount, or no coverage at all. The office offers to look up your benefits. New contact lens patients should bring an old prescription or the lens boxes. A photo of the box label also works.
This listing does not give medical advice. For a sudden change in vision or an eye injury, call 911 or go to an emergency room.
Myopia management
Myopia, or nearsightedness, gets a dedicated page on the practice's site. It describes three approaches it offers to slow a child's myopia:
- Atropine eye drops used nightly
- Paragon CRT lenses, worn overnight to reshape the cornea, which the practice says it has fitted for 15 years from its own lens stock
- Soft multifocal daytime lenses, including MiSight by CooperVision
The page says CRT lenses can be fitted after a comprehensive exam and that the program includes training on putting the lenses in and taking them out, plus follow-up visits. Whether any option fits your child is a decision for you and the optometrist.
The optometrists
The Our Practice page lists two doctors. Dr. Adrienne Lee, O.D., is a Bay Area native who studied microbiology at UC Berkeley and graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1990. Dr. Liezl Sutijono, O.D., earned her optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in 2006 and practiced on the East Coast before returning to the Bay Area. The page says she first covered for Dr. Lee during a maternity leave and later rejoined the team as an associate doctor. The page also introduces Lidia, the managing optician, who handles eyewear, repairs and adjustments.
Eyewear and discounts
The boutique stocks modern frames chosen to fit a wide range of face shapes. The home page mentions fits for Asian, African American and Hispanic faces. Drop in for frame repairs and adjustments from Tuesday to Saturday. The practice advertises second-pair discounts all year, plus discounts for students, teachers and seniors. The insurance page adds that special frame and lens collections are available for Medicare and budget needs.
