About Learnika

Learnika is a language and tutoring center at 572 College Avenue in Palo Alto, near the College Terrace neighborhood and a few blocks from California Avenue. Its home page describes it as a supportive, safe place for children to learn and play, with programs that include Spanish, academic tutoring, homework help and coding. The center welcomes families for the 2026 school year with an afterschool program, private tutoring and seasonal camps.

The center is reached at 650-248-2800 or info@learnika.com. It mixes several kinds of programs under one roof, which suits families who want language, tutoring and enrichment in a single place. Programs run as scheduled sessions, so most families start with a call or an email to talk through goals and timing.

Programs

Spanish and language

Spanish comes first in the center's list of programs. Learnika says it offers Spanish for all ages and levels, taught by native speakers from Spain, Chile, Mexico and Argentina. Sessions are private or in small groups of up to four students. They last an hour for elementary and high school students and less for kindergarteners. Students choose which skills to work on, such as speaking and listening or reading and writing. The center accepts kids and adults throughout the year and asks families to email for prices and availability.

Academic tutoring and college prep

Learnika lists tutoring in math, English and science, along with SAT, ACT and ISEE prep. Its subject list runs from elementary Spanish, math and English up to high school calculus, physics, chemistry, biology and AP Spanish, plus a college essay workshop. Tutoring is one-on-one or in small groups with flexible scheduling. The center also hosts SAT and ACT practice test dates. Its college prep tutors focus on breaking down how each test is built, so students can handle unfamiliar questions faster.

Coding, robotics and Learnika Labs

The coding and tech program covers Intro to Coding with Scratch, robotics, 3D printing, Minecraft modding and languages such as Java and Python. Learnika Labs is the center's STEM and arts maker space, where students work on hands-on projects across a varied curriculum. The Scratch class focuses on creative projects and core ideas such as loops, variables and conditionals. Learnika recommends that even students with some experience start there. The center says its goal is to turn students into creators of technology rather than just users, with problem solving at the center of every project.

AfterSchool K to 5

The afterschool program serves kindergarten through fifth grade and is open for 2026 to 2027 registration. For fall 2026, Learnika says it picks children up from Escondido Elementary School, starting August 13. The program page lists an annual registration fee, monthly tuition due on the first of the month and a 30 day written notice rule for schedule changes or leaving. It closes on school holidays and staff development days. Read the full tuition schedule and registration agreement on the program page before enrolling.

Summer camps

Learnika runs weekly Spanish Immersion Summer Camps in Palo Alto. The camp page gives the season as June 9 to August 7 and says 2026 camp details are available. The center also advertises summer programs in Spain, with dates to be announced. For other options, see our guides to summer camps and classes for kids.

Tips for families

Email or call before you visit, since most programs are scheduled sessions rather than drop-in classes. Ask which tutor or teacher would fit your child's level. Ask too whether a trial session is possible. If you are weighing language programs, mention whether your child already speaks Spanish at home, because the center tailors sessions to each student.

College Avenue is close to El Camino Real and the California Avenue shops, so a session can fit around errands or a meal. The California Avenue Caltrain station is within walking distance. The center also says it is hiring tutors, especially in biology, computer science, robotics and Mandarin Chinese, which may interest Stanford students looking for part-time teaching work.
