SpringHill Suites Belmont Redwood Shores is an all-suite Marriott hotel on Shoreway Road, on the bay side of Highway 101 where Belmont meets Redwood Shores. Every room is a suite with a separate sitting area. The rate includes a hot breakfast buffet, which is rare among the Marriott hotels near Palo Alto. There is also a heated outdoor pool, an evening bar and EV charging. At about 10 miles by road from downtown Palo Alto, it is one of the closer full-amenity hotels north of Redwood City. It suits families and longer stays that want more space than a standard room.

This profile is based on Marriott's official page for the hotel, checked on November 3, 2026. We do not publish star ratings or reviews. Fees are what Marriott listed that day and may change. For live rates, check SpringHill Suites Belmont on Booking.com or book with Marriott.

Location and distances

The address is 1401 Shoreway Road, Belmont, CA 94002. Shoreway Road runs along the east side of Highway 101, between the freeway and the office parks and lagoons of Redwood Shores. You are close to the Ralston Avenue interchange, which leads west into downtown Belmont and east into Redwood Shores. It is a convenient driving location rather than a walking one.

Road estimates are ours, based on Highway 101. The stretch through Redwood City and Menlo Park slows to a crawl at weekday peaks, so allow 40 minutes or more at those times. Our Redwood City commuting guide covers this corridor.

Two routes work for Stanford. Highway 101 south to Embarcadero Road or University Avenue is fastest for downtown Palo Alto and the east side of campus. For meetings on Sand Hill Road or at the Stanford Research Park, Ralston Avenue climbs west to Interstate 280, which is often calmer than 101. Take the Sand Hill Road or Page Mill Road exit from there.

Getting to Palo Alto by train

Marriott lists the Belmont Caltrain station as nearby. It is about 0.8 mile away, on the other side of Highway 101, so a short rideshare is easier than walking across the freeway interchange. From Belmont, trains reach Palo Alto in roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Belmont is two fare zones from Palo Alto. The two-zone Clipper fare was $6.25 in October 2026 and rises to $6.50 on January 1, 2027. Our Caltrain guide explains which trains stop at Belmont.

The hotel does not run its own shuttle. Marriott lists an area shuttle or taxi on request at about $55 one way to SFO. A rideshare is usually comparable. See our SFO guide for transit to the airport.

Breakfast and the bar

The free hot breakfast buffet runs from 6:30 to 9 a.m. on weekdays and 7 to 9:30 a.m. on weekends, according to Marriott. That window is early, so late risers may miss it. In the evening, Sips and Snacks is the on-site bar, open every day from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. with small plates and cocktails. There is no full-service dinner restaurant.

Food nearby

Belmont's restaurants are mostly on El Camino Real and Ralston Avenue, a few minutes west across Highway 101. Our Belmont food guide confirmed these open on November 1, 2026:

  • Iberia at 740 El Camino Real, Spanish tapas, pintxos and paella. It is closed Mondays and takes reservations.
  • Vivace at 1910 Ralston Avenue, Italian food, pizza and seafood.
  • Godfather's Burger Lounge at 1500 El Camino Real, gourmet burgers.

Who SpringHill Suites Belmont suits

  • Families who want a suite, a pool and breakfast included.
  • Owners of larger dogs up to 75 pounds.
  • Visitors to Redwood Shores offices or the Redwood City area who also need Stanford days.
  • Travelers flying through SFO, about 12 miles north.
  • EV drivers, since many nearby hotels list no chargers.

It is less suited to visitors who want to walk to dinner or reach Caltrain on foot. In Redwood City, the Grand Bay Hotel San Francisco on the Redwood Shores lagoon is a more upscale option. For more suites, see our family-friendly hotels guide.

Booking tips

  1. Count breakfast as savings. Free breakfast for a family of four can offset the parking fee and then some.
  2. Price the pet fees. At $20 a day plus $150, a week with a dog adds about $290 as listed.
  3. Ask about the pool in winter. It is heated, but confirm hours in the cooler months.
  4. Ask for a quiet side. Shoreway Road runs right beside Highway 101, so light sleepers may want a suite facing away from the freeway. Mention it when you book and again at check-in.
  5. Mind weekday demand. Redwood Shores offices fill Monday to Thursday nights. Weekends are often cheaper.
  6. Compare prices. You can compare Belmont and Redwood City hotels on Hotels.com for your dates.
