About the University Avenue AT&T store
AT&T has two stores in Palo Alto. This one, which AT&T's page calls the Palo Alto store and labels an Authorized Retailer, is on the 400 block of University Avenue downtown. OpenStreetMap had placed it at 476 University Avenue, across the street, but AT&T's store page and its list of Palo Alto stores both give 479. The second store is at 2805 El Camino Real at Page Mill Road.
The store page has a Request in-store appointment button for longer jobs. Downtown has stores for all three national carriers within a short walk: Verizon at 222 University Avenue and T-Mobile at 165 University Avenue.
