Monika Stone Skin is a skincare studio at 1795 El Camino Real in Palo Alto. Her biography on the site says her interest in skincare began at age 12 in her native Austria, where she later trained in what she describes as a rigorous, medical-based European approach. She brought that training to the United States decades ago. Her daughter, Ria Stone, is a licensed esthetician and the studio's events coordinator. The site says Ria completed esthetics and advanced esthetician courses at San Jose City College. OpenStreetMap lists the business as "Monica Stone Skin," but the studio spells its name with a k.
Treatments
The treatment menu is organized into several groups:
- Facials: the signature facial, a European facial, collagen, aromatherapy and "glow and go" facials, plus an event-ready facial series.
- Enhancing treatments: neck and décolletage, eye, lip, hand and arm and back treatments, brow and lash services, gentle hair removal and professional makeup.
- Advanced skincare: acne and post-acne treatments, LED light treatments, microdermabrasion, oxygen treatments, clinical peels, micro infusion, high frequency, rosacea relief and brightening and hydration boosters.
- Pre- and post-procedure treatments for clients having cosmetic procedures.
- Men's treatments, including a men's facial and microdermabrasion.
- Specialized facials for pregnancy, teens and clients whose health is compromised.

Your first visit
New clients have two ways to begin. The first is a 30-minute in-person consultation that includes a skin assessment and a customized treatment plan. The second is the Monika Stone Skin Starter Treatment, a two-hour session that combines that consultation with a customized facial and a personalized plan, including recommended treatments, pricing options and a home care routine. The FAQ says new clients receive 10 percent off their first product purchase or treatment after the consultation.

Payment, packages and policies
The studio accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express, debit cards and cash. It says it does not offer financial assistance or payment plans. Facial services bought as a series of 6 or 12 treatments are discounted by 10 to 15 percent.
Appointments require a deposit. You must cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead to keep it. New clients read and sign the cancellation policy before booking a first appointment.
Shopping online and the skincare concierge
Monika Stone Skin sells serums, moisturizers, cleansers, sun care and other products through its website. The shop lists free shipping on orders over $100 and ships orders placed by noon Pacific time the same day, Monday to Friday. It does not ship internationally. Opened or used products cannot be returned.
For product advice without a visit, the studio offers a complimentary 15-minute Zoom or phone consultation through its Concierge page. For treatments, it prefers to meet in person.
