About this Safeway
Safeway lists this Midtown supermarket as store 1682, near the intersection of Middlefield Road and Oregon Expressway, with parking out front. It is the closest large grocery for much of central Palo Alto. Its 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. hours are far later than most Palo Alto grocers, which tend to close by 9 or 10 p.m. The store page does not list a bakery counter or a fuel station here, so call ahead if you need a custom cake.

The page also lists flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines. Customers aged 55 and over get a discount on in-store grocery purchases on the first Wednesday of each month.
