On this page
Enchanté is a small boutique hotel at the entrance to downtown Los Altos, styled like a French country house. Its rooms are filled with French antiques and art. Most have gas fireplaces and marble bathrooms. Breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi are included. Guests also get a glass of wine on arrival. The hotel's bistro, Campagne One Main, opens onto a small plaza with a fountain. With fewer than two dozen rooms, it is about as far from a big business hotel as you can get within 5 miles of Palo Alto.
This profile is based on the hotel's official website, checked November 1, 2026. We do not publish prices, star ratings or reviews. For live rates, check Enchanté on Booking.com or book with the hotel directly.
Location
The address is One Main Street, Los Altos, CA 94022. Main Street is one of the two shopping streets of downtown Los Altos, a compact triangle of low storefronts bounded by Foothill Expressway, San Antonio Road and Edith Avenue. Our downtown Los Altos guide explains the layout, the free public parking plazas and the street events through the year.
Distances from the hotel, measured in a straight line:
| Place | Distance |
|---|---|
| Downtown Palo Alto | About 5.1 miles |
| Stanford Main Quad | About 4.4 miles |
| Stanford Hospital | About 5 miles |
| San Antonio Caltrain station | About 1.9 miles |
| Mountain View Caltrain station | About 2.3 miles |

Getting there
Los Altos has no Caltrain station. The nearest is San Antonio, in Mountain View, about 2 miles away. A rideshare from the platform is the easiest link. Most guests arrive by car. From Palo Alto, the drive is about 10 to 15 minutes via Foothill Expressway or El Camino Real and San Antonio Road. Parking is included in the stay.
- From SJC: roughly 20 to 25 minutes by car. See our SJC guide.
- From SFO: about 35 to 45 minutes by car via Highway 101 or Interstate 280.
Rooms
The rooms page says all 19 rooms are non-smoking and individually decorated with French antiques and art. Bathrooms are marble. A separate page on group bookings says 18 rooms. Each room has an organic mattress the hotel says is hand-assembled by Amish craftsmen, spa toiletries, robes and a 42-inch flat-screen TV.
| Room type | Size (hotel) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Deluxe Queen | 290 sq ft | Top floor, queen bed, gas fireplace |
| Premier King | 325 sq ft | Five rooms, each decorated differently |
| Accessible Premier King | 325 sq ft | Transfer shower, folding seat, visual alarms |
| Deluxe King | 350 sq ft | Six decorative styles |
| Deluxe Two Bed | 350 sq ft | Two full beds, second floor |
| Superior King | 375 to 440 sq ft | Largest rooms, freestanding pedestal tubs |
| Grand Suite | 700 sq ft | Two rooms, sofa bed, dining table, two TVs |
The Deluxe Two Bed room has two full beds rather than queens, which suits a parent with one child better than two adults. Families who need more space should look at the Grand Suite with its sofa bed.
What the rate includes
The hotel says these come with every stay:

- A glass of wine on arrival.
- Parking.
- Wi-Fi.
- 24-hour access to an off-site fitness center.
There is no pool, spa or on-site gym. If you want a pool, our guide to hotels with pools lists options in and around Palo Alto. The site does not mention EV charging, so ask the hotel if you need it.
Campagne One Main
The bistro is open to the public and serves French-American food. It has a Napoleon theme, 200-year-old timbers and a period French fireplace. Hours posted by the hotel:
- Monday to Friday: breakfast and lunch 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; dinner 4 to 8:30 p.m.

Takeout orders are taken by phone until 8 p.m. Reservations go through OpenTable or the hotel. The hotel says it hosts magic and music on weeknights. For Sunday dinner or more variety, downtown Los Altos has many restaurants within a few blocks; our Los Altos food guide lists them. The Thursday farmers market on State Street runs in season, April to October.
Meetings, the plaza and events
For a hotel this size, Enchanté has a few useful spaces for small gatherings. The hotel lists:
- The library: a room with a fireplace, an HDTV and AV equipment for private dinners or meetings of up to 12 people.
- The bistro: available for lunches and dinner parties.
- The plaza: an outdoor space beside the bistro with an antique French fountain, used for alfresco dinners and cocktail parties. With the bistro, the hotel says it can host up to 70 guests.
The hotel also offers group room blocks for weddings and corporate visits. Downtown Los Altos runs a busy calendar of street events, including the Art and Wine Festival and First Fridays, which the hotel says are steps away. Those dates can fill the hotel, so check the town calendar before you pick a weekend.
Dogs and policies
The hotel calls itself pet friendly and keeps a select number of dog-friendly rooms. It has a canine concierge named Fleur de Lis and a dog menu it calls the NaPAWleon menu. It asks guests to say a dog is coming when they book. It reserves the right to turn away dogs by size and breed. A Pampered Pooch package includes the pet fee, a dog bed and a session with a dog behaviorist; the hotel asks for 48 hours' notice to confirm a pet-friendly room.
The hotel's site does not post check-in or checkout times. Ask when you book. For more dog-friendly options, see our pet-friendly hotels guide.
